Wine Magic

The wine: Nectar of the Gods. In ancient times, wine magic was regarded as a miraculous gift from divinities since time out of memory. In ancient ages, pleasures of wine were both spiritual and sensory. The making of wine is magical, as well as what happens when sharing Fine Wine with others.

This is all about Fine Wine and what I refer to as Wine Magic. There are so many ways to enjoy Wine, and when you add Wine to specific activities, Magic happens. Calming, relaxing and stress relieved Wine Magic!

Pairings and Great Company. You are Absolutely going to Love This!

Now this was a BIG EVENT, and one we shared with a lot of people directly and in an online Zoom Room with several Hundred Others!

Here are the ingredients and True Fine Wines we had for our “Wine Magic Event”:

We will Start with the Wines for the Full Evening of this “Wine Magic Event”.

  • More Than Muse Rose’
  • Tanya Ricord Pinot Grigio
  • Nile Eddy Pinot Noir
  • Donna Walker Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Adele Zinfandel
  • Ricord Merlot

Having several wines for the “EVENT” allows for more “Tastes and Taste Events in your Body” to happen. Allow the Tasting to Occur and be experienced in all sorts of combinations. And your Guests will Really Enjoy it.

Then we add in the Food!

Charcuterie Board. This is usually with Salty Meats like Salami, Pepperoni, and Ham. Along with Savory Meats. Turkey; from plain to seasoned. Beef; from plain to Seasoned. Always Olives and Capers. Some Jams or Preserves. Nuts; Pecans, Almonds, Cashews. Oh, and add in a Melon Selection of Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Honeydew, and toss in Kiwi Slices or Apple Slices (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp are our Go-To’s). Be creative, you get the picture.

Appetizers/Starters. This is usually a Salad as well as Appetizers that Accompany the Meal. Skewered grilled Shrimp for example. The Salad will be light if following the Charcuterie Board. Light being a Caeser or Garden Salad. The True Fine Wines themselves add to the enhancements of what a dressing offers. For instance, a good Blue Cheese or Caesar Dressing makes the “Wine” flavors pop!

Mains. This is where we added in a Fish Dish. Salmon or Sea Bass is our Go-To’s. And a Beef Dish. From a Roast to a Prime Rib, or grilled Steaks. Season the Steak with Salt and Pepper allowing the Meat and Wine to blend well with the “Tasting Event”.

Dessert. Chocolate Cake. Rich and Deep in “Dark Chocolate”. It’s a Merlot’s Best Pairing next to the Dark Chocolate Pieces themselves.

How the Wine Magic Takes Place Now that we have our Wines and Foods Ready to Go:

  • We Begin. Starting with the lights to heavies. The Tanya Ricord Pinot Grigio and More Than Muse Rose’ to begin with the Charcuterie Board. This gets anyone new or experienced to open up their tasting pallets and to enjoy the flavor combinations.
  • Moving into the Starters. Salads, Skewers of Shrimp and Charcuterie to Hearts Content. You will be able to move into the Nile Eddy Pinot Noir. Going into the reds (Finally for many. Reds are faves after all).
  • Then into the Mains. This allows for the Adele Zin and Donna Walker Cabernet Sauvignon to be brought out and added to the Tasting Fun. This is Wine Magic in “SPADES” at this point.
  • Dessert Time! The Ricord Merlot and the Chocolate Cake and/or Chocolate Tasting Plate come out. This is well and full rounding of this Wine Magic Event!
  • Continue as The Wine Magic Event Allows. And if there are wines left, the pairing and experimentation of taste combinations can continue. From the lighter wines to be paired with the heavier foods and desserts to having the Charcuterie tasting with the Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zin and Cab!

Yep, moderate red wine consumption is healthy—and here’s the proof.

7 Science-Backed Health Benefits of Drinking Red Wine

Red Grapes With Wineglass On Table At Field: red wine health benefits

Enjoying a glass of antioxidant-rich red wine can do much more than help you unwind after a long day and make dinner taste more delicious. When consumed in limited quantities—up to one 5-ounce glass for women and up to two 5-ounce glasses for men per day—red wine has some surprisingly healthy benefits. To answer the age-old question of whether or not red wine is actually good for you, here’s what a dietitian and the latest research have to say about the known health benefits of drinking red wine, and how it can potentially impact your overall wellness.

Red wine helps regulate blood sugar.

Despite containing natural sugars, red wine can actually help regulate blood sugar, according to the American Diabetes Association. Drinking red wine may lower your blood sugar for up to 24 hours, which can be beneficial for those with higher blood sugar levels. While red wine shouldn’t be substituted for blood glucose management medications and treatment plans, it may be a helpful dietary addition in moderation.

It boosts memory and cognitive functioning.

Red wine is rich in polyphenols, which are antioxidants that help the body fight off disease, among other benefits. Resveratrol, a type of polyphenol found in red wine, may also help improve short-term memory.3 Recent studies show that resveratrol actually has the power to reduce damage caused by sleep deprivation, like memory deficits, and can boost your ability to learn and your cognitive processing functions.4

Plus, another surprising red wine health benefit is its ability to potentially lower the risk of dementia, a group of conditions that impact memory function (usually in older age). “Studies show that red wine consumption can reduce the risk of having dementia, which often leads to Alzheimer’s disease,” says nutritionist Sally Stevens, RDN. The key, though, is drinking red wine in moderation, as heavier consumption can actually increase the risk.6 So it’s best to cap your intake around the recommended 5-ounce glass per day.

Red wine can cut cancer risk.

Recent studies are emerging that point to red wine as potentially having the ability to reduce cancer risk by preventing the growth of cancerous cells, particularly those associated with breast cancer and esophageal cancer.7 That’s because resveratrol, a polyphenol in grape skin can actually kill cancer cells, according to cancer researchers.8

The polyphenol helps starve cancer cells by blocking development of a key protein that feeds them. “Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant that can be found in grape skin and red grape juice,” Stevens explains. “Antioxidants help the body fight off free radicals that can damage our cells and organs.”

It improves heart health.

One of the most celebrated red wine benefits is its ability to potentially improve heart health. Consuming foods and beverages rich in polyphenols, such as red wine, has long been associated with reduced risk of heart disease. Red wine has the power to protect the lining of blood vessels in the heart while also boosting HDL, or “good” cholesterol that helps your body flush out bad cholesterol. (Bad cholesterol can significantly increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.) “Drinking wine may help in decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL), also known as bad cholesterol,” Stevens says. “[High LDL] may cause artery damage.”

Red wine promotes eye health.

Red wine health benefits go even further, thanks to resveratrol once again. With vascular-enhancing properties, red wine may improve microcirculation in the eye. This process can help prevent eye-related issues such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma, all of which contribute to vision loss.10

It maintains dental health.

Emerging studies show that red wine may keep your mouth healthy. New data suggests red wine—specifically those beneficial polyphenols we’ve talked about so much—can actually fight off harmful bacteria in the mouth, which can contribute to tooth decay and gum disease. By preventing the bacteria from sticking to teeth and gums, red wine essentially stops it from causing things like cavities or plaque.

Red wine helps fight off viruses.

Keeping our immune systems strong against viruses is incredibly important, and red wine may have yet another promising perk in this department. One of its benefits includes immune-boosting properties, thanks to its antioxidant content. “Wine contains high levels of antioxidants in the form of flavonoids, which can combat viruses,”12 Stevens says.

Red wine may also boost your microbiome, or healthy gut bacteria. A healthy microbiome can prevent disease development, while an unhealthy microbiome can decrease your immune function, making you more susceptible to getting sick.
